After Glenn's tragic death, "The Walking Dead" fans mourned in dismay. However, speculations suggest that there will be more death on the second half of the season.

"The Walking Dead" mid-season premiere is on February 12 and fans are anxious to know if another main character will be killed before the season is over. Rumors suggest that another mainstay will face a gruesome death as the season is expected to return with a bang.

Norman Reedus who plays Daryl heightened the anticipation during an interview with Comicbook.com. "There are a bunch of groups, and like everything on this show, everything comes to a head eventually," Norman Reedus said. "There are definitely scenes shot that are as epic and as large."

Reedus also noted that the rest of the season would be "crazy". However, there is no concrete proof yet that Rick's pack will lose another member. King Ezekiel will likely play a huge part in the war between Rick and Negan but fans need to closely watch the season to witness how their story unfold.

AMC released a trailer for "The Walking Dead" season 7's return. The gang is standing up against Negan but knowing him and his crew, another gruesome bloodbath may just be on the horizon. The question is with Rick's "all out war", who will be the casualty?

Although there are no direct spoilers pointing to who could possibly die next, reports say that analyzing the death patterns in the series might just give the fans some clue. According to Vanity Fair, in the comic book version, Negan somehow likes Carl. This could be where the speculations of Carl's safehold in Season 7 came from.

Why Carl? Based on the comics version, Negan appears to like some of Carl's qualities. Some say this might also be because there are no other characters who could die based on the story line. It can't be Rick as he is the leader of the group, Maggie suffered too much to die immediately especially after losing Glenn early in the season, and Carol is also an unlikely target since the production spent time building her character and story.

To find out, "The Walking Dead" followers should keep their eyes glued on the TV screen come February 12.
