Nintendo launched NES Classic in November 2016 and since then, it has been out-of-stock at all the major stores. Now a store in Alabama has come up with a Facebook post stating that it is selling the hotly popular console.

The announcement has been made by specialty retailer 2nd & Charles' store in Hover, Alabama, according to a report published by Auto World News. It is, although, unclear how the store has been able to grab copies of NES Classic to sell amidst shortage of supply from Nintendo's end.

At the time of the launch of NES Classic Edition, Nintendo promised that the console will be made available throughout the Holiday Season, through the New Year. However, the company failed to live by its promises and the demand for the popular console clearly outpaced its supply from the company's end.

This is evident from the current status of the console on majority of online stores. NES Classic Edition is either not available or out-of-stock, hinting at company's inability to produce enough units to meet the demand.

Earlier it was rumored that Nintendo may have intentionally created a shortage of supply to hype the demand for its two other consoles, Nintendo Switch and SNES. The latter is expected to be released during this year's holiday season.

Amidst NES Classic scarcity, all allotments for Nintendo Switch has already been used up on all major sites, including Amazon, GameSpot, Walmart and Target. That is, users are no longer to book a per-order for the much-awaited console.

Discarding all such rumors, Nintendo Executive Reggie Fils-Aime recently cleared in an interview with GameSpot that NES Classic shortage is a clear example of demand outpacing the supply.

Fils-Aime explained how the company anticipated older adults who had never left playing video games as the primary target audience for NES Classic Edition, but it was actually active gamers who turned out to purchase the console in huge numbers after its release.
