Injustice developer NetherRealm Studios just dropped a new story trailer for the game's sequel, "Injustice 2."

The video, which is titled "The Lines are Redrawn," shows the outcome of "Injustice: Gods Among Us", game, during which Batman led a resistance against Superman's oppressive regime, reports GameSpot. In Injustice 2, we will see Batman trying to put civilization back to normal, but is challenged by heroes and villains that want to see Superman back to power.

The "Injustice 2" story trailer also shows us the game's main villain, Braniac, and also new allegiances, with former buddies such as Batman and Robin (possibly Damian Wayne, Bruce's son) facing off in battle as rivals, and Supergirl squaring it out with Wonderwoman. You can also see classic Batman villains like Bane and Poison Ivy in the trailer.

The last two characters revealed in the trailer were Harley Quinn, who is returning from the first game, and Deadshot who appeared only as a cameo in the first Injustice game and wasn't playable.

The "Injustice 2" trailer also made sure to announce three different editions of the game that will be available. According to Heavy, you can get Darkseid if you pre-order the Standard Edition, the Digital Deluxe or the Ultimate Editions of the game. The Digital Deluxe Edition will come with three extra DLC characters, a "Defender Shader" pack and a special costume for Supergirl.

Meanwhile, the Ultimate Edition of Injustice 2 will bring more bonuses - that includes 9 DLC fighters, new outfits for Supergirl, The Flash and Green Lantern plus the "Destroyer" and "Defender Shader" Packs.

A new character is reported to be revealed on Jan. 24, and all of the heroes and villains seen in the "The Lines are Redrawn" trailer have been confirmed.

"Injustice 2" will be released on May 16 and will be made available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
