Fans of Bethesda's hit game "The Elder Scrolls" have been cooling their heels for a long time and growing impatient as to when the studio would roll out "The Elder Scrolls 6." Bethesda has developed a reputation for taking their sweet time in releasing sequels to their hit franchises but have so far been consistent in delivering quality material to avid gamers.

Fans have been wondering what the exact reason is for the holdup in the development of the games when Bethesda's development timelines are not tied to the development of new technology like Metal Gear Solid V for the FOX Engine of Breath of the Wild which was developed by Nintendo from scratch.

An analysis by GameBolt theorized that this could be attributed to Bethesda's attention to detail in creating their settings which pays off in spades when it comes to the gamers' gameplay experience. The report hinted that this could be taking up a huge portion of time on the side of the developers because the creation of consistent elements takes a lot of time, devotion and attention.

It can be recalled that Fallout took five years before the studio came out with a sequel, and now The Elder Scrolls has reached the same milestone but the sequel is still nowhere in sight. The studio even specifically mentioned that they will not be dropping any The Elder Scrolls material in the next two Gamescon.

Rather than rely on speculation, Bethesda's Pete Hines  addressed the fans' on what is taking so long for the release, The Express reported. In a twitter reply to Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter, Hines clarified that the studio is proceeding with its projects right on track but it is unlikely that it will release The Elder Scrolls 6 anytime this year.

"It isn't delayed. The studio has two other major projects they want to work on before they get to TES6," he said.
