Gaming addicts can't wait for the much anticipated "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update. And it looks like they don't have to wait for long. "Pokemon GO" is planning a big comeback this year to revive their popularity that gradually waned late last year. Now gamers can look forward to a new set of characters this coming spring.

By March 20, Nintendo is expected to roll out the latest update as The Silph Road has already discovered some clues in the patch in time for the Gen 2 release. There are about 38 new quick moves and charge moved added. This includes Volt Switch, Air Slash, Zap Cannon, and Sand Tomb.

There are also Evolution Items that don't have any graphic assets yet but they appear by the name in the code. These are Sun Stone, Kings Rock, Metal Coat, Dragon Scale, and Upgrade. Thus, a new evolution mechanic for some species is expected soon.

Additionally, there are new debugging tools that could be used that include Species, Gender, Costume, Form, and Shiny. Three new sponsor categories could also be found namely PAN, BBQ and FRYER. There's also some exciting Avatar customization that were added like belt, glasses, and necklace.

The "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 News Digest Section

The long awaited "News" digest section is also set to appear that will bring updates about the game like the latest events, among others. There are also some Gym interaction tweaks that were made in order to improve handling of the radius.

Welcome Surprise vs Big Disappointment

Now "Pokemon GO" fans are wondering if this latest update is going to be a big surprise or another disappointment. Back in December gamers were promised a "big update" by Niantic. However, it was simply Gen 2 babies that appeared in eggs. People are disappointed because they were hoping for one big release that the slow trickles Niantic is giving them per Forbes.

Here's hoping all the goodies will indeed be released this spring. Then again, gamers will just have to wait and see. For more "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 news and latest updates, keep it here on MStars News. Hit us with your feedback in the comments below.
