'Dota 2' Patch 7.00: Massive Gameplay And Map Changes, New Hero Marks The Game's New Journey

E-sports has been rising in popularity this past decade. One of its pioneers, the "Defence of the Ancients" or "Dota" was followed by the massively popular "Dota 2" in which all the game elements are remastered ad improved to fit modern gaming. Dota 2 is not far from its predecessor base on the mechanics of the game and the heroes available. The old time DOTA favourites remained the DOTA 2 favourites. But a new journey is coming, as DOTA 2 patch 7.00 brought a massive change in the game.

MAIN CHANGES

As per the Dota 2 Blog, changes in the in-game interface are the main focus in this update. The shop interface restored the Grid to the right side and popular items are now highlighted in the item grid. The items now vary when the MMR is 5000 or higher to compliment the improving skills of the player. There is also a customizable pinned item to access favourite items easier.

The Hero Control Console also received adjustments such as making hero attributes visible and stats are shown both in base form and bonus form. The thin strips of health and mana bars were also increased. The area of multi-unit selection also saw an increase in size, and new Multi-Unit icons are introduced. Hotkey support for Learn Ability mode was restored and buffed up with support for opening Hero Talent Tree to select the left of right Talent Branch.

Heroes now have a bag pack that allows them to carry three more items. Items in the bag cannot be activated but it can be used to store items that complete recipes swap items from inventory. Items can be put out when near a shop and included in the things that are forbidden in the bag pack are Gem, Rapier, Bloodstone and Aegis.

Roshan is moved near top Powerup Rune Spot. The game has new building called "Shrine" near the secret shops and it generates auro that provides 120/40/HP/MP per second.

OTHER THINGS

Aesthetic improvements are one of the other things that have been brought in this game through the patch 7.00. Skybox is added and it replaced the foreboding ether to atmosphere and clouds. This feature is available in the Showcase View. Also in Showcase View, trees will now tower over the hero avatar when walking in the default map. There are also trees that would sway in the wind but will still be munched down with a tango. Grasses that sways in the win is also added.

DARK MOON SPECIAL EVENT

This event is only available from January 26 to February 6. Defend the Selemene's temple and get the special event points that are used to redeem Dark Moon Rewards. The more points, the greater the rewards that can be redeemed and there is no limit in how many points that a player can get.

Dota 2 is expected to have a new meta, or changes in the current at the least, because of the new things brought by the patch 7.00. Players are suggested to play and feel the new changes from this update.
