As the buzz surrounding Daft Punk's new album Random Access Memories continues to grow and "Get Lucky" continues to set records, Vice has released the next volume in their series, The Collaborators. The web series consists of interviews with Daft Punk collaborators on what it was like to work with them. This edition sees producer Chilly Gonzales talking on how it felt to work with the duo.

Chilly most high-profile collaboration prior to working with Daft Punk would be with singer-songwriter Feist. The electro producer and pianist doesn't lend a hand lightly, but he jumped at the chance to work with the robots.

"You make exceptions for people who are in possession of some true key to the zeitgeist," said Gonzales.

The Canadian musician says that Daft Pukn brought him in to help fine tune their harmonies, a component of music that Chilly feels in underrespresented as a "musical weapon" in current pop music.

It has the most strong emotional reaction despite the fact that there's so much science and math involved in it. And yet it's largely the thing that will often make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up involuntarily," he said.

Gonzales also plinked out several melodies that may be appearing on Random Access Memories, beyond Gonzales' obvious technical knowledge and clear-cut explanations, the video's worth a watch just for that.

Previously, The Collaborators has showcased Panda Bear of Animal Collective and Pharrell Williams. Williams worked with Daft Punk on "Get Lucky," the lead single off the new album that has been teased, 'leaked' and released to critical and commercial acclaim, shattering single day streaming records on Spotify.

What do you think of Chilly Gonzales' contribution? Do you like The Collaborators? Are you excited for Daft Punk's new album Random Access Memories?
