After a disastrous gas leakage in a Los Angeles neighborhood February last year that released thousands of tones Methane gas into open year, Tesla started planning to replace fossil fuel with batteries to power its grid.

Three new plants of Lithium-ion batteries are ready in California to generate electricity for Tesla Gaga factory and other facilities. Tesla Automatic and electric cars are a mile stone in self driving and electric car revolution. Besides electric and Auto-Cars, Tesla has been manufacturing world famous AC/DC and hybrid batteries with built in inverters.

Tesla batteries have been electrifying houses and businesses in America and Australia including other parts of the world. In a recent development, Tesla has installed thousands of batteries linking them together to form a huge grid system, reports Bloomberg.

Tesla also need millions of batteries for its planned production of 500,000 cars per year. These Lithium-ion batteries are the most successful in the world that have been proved in the Tesla cars already. Tesla energy storage facility will be able to store 15% of world's total storage capacity.

According to Tesla, Tesla Gigafactory in Nevada is expected to start battery cell production by 2018. According to reports, Tesla has established the Gigafactory at the huge cost of 5 billion US dollars. The official website of Tesla reported that Tesla Gigafactory will collaborate with Panasonic and other electronics brands to produce future energy solutions.

The grid will be powered by millions of batteries strung together. Future energy solutions will be based on clean energy concept. Innovative designs of energy systems will electrify energy starved poor nations with cost efficient, reliable and sustainable power technologies.

Tesla said that by combining all the manufacturing solutions under one roof of Gigafactory, the production cost of battery manufacturing will be reduced by 30%.

The factory is named after its capacity of producing up to 35 Giga-Watt-hour wherein 1 GWh is equivalent to providing 1 billion Watts for one hour. Tesla Gigafactory is roofed completely with solar panels and wind power plants are installed near the factory to produce environmental friendly renewable energy for the factory and national grid.
