Hugh Jackman Undergoes Fifth Skin Cancer Treament! Actor Sends Message To Fans On Social Media

Hugh Jackman, popularly known as Wolverine in the "X-Men" films, shared a Twitter photo on Monday with a bandage on his nose. The actor just had his fifth treatment on skin cancer. He reminded his fans to wear sunscreen. This was not the first time that the actor was treated for such.

The 48-year-old "Logan" actor told his Twitter followers that he just had another treatment for basal cell carcinoma. His first treatment for his skin cancer was back in 2013, according to PEOPLE. It was Hugh Jackman's wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, who prompted him to get the strange mark on his face checked.

Hugh Jackman also reminded fans the importance of frequent check-ups. He also praised his doctors for the help. The "Van Helsing" actor also opened up to the press about his reaction to the diagnosis back in 2015. He was shocked when he was told that he had skin cancer. Even though basal cell carcinoma is the least dangerous form of cancer, it's a health condition that should still be taken seriously.

Since he was from Australia, he grew up not using sunscreen, which he said was a factor in his cancerous condition. The "Les Miserables" actor has since gone to check-ups every three months since 2013, according to Metro. Hugh Jackman had already undergone treatment before to remove cancer from his shoulder and another one on his nose.

Jackman has constantly reminded his fans to use sunscreen or get themselves checked for cancer. In 2016, he got another treatment for cancer on the nose. Hugh Jackman shared a photo and some reminders on Instagram. Basal-cell carcinoma is one of the most common diseases in the world, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation.

There are 3 million people in the United States with the diagnosis, but they shouldn't be alarmed. The cancer can be easily removed at the local hospital or dermatological center. Although it doesn't spread around the entire body, the wound can still grow if left unchecked.
