‘The Crown’ To Replace Royal Actors For The Upcoming Seasons

There's no wonder why reports have claimed that Claire Foy and Matt Smith won't be able to return for Season 3. "The Crown" series have to change the royal characters after every two seasons and it is to accommodate their aging characters.

Still, Claire Foy and Matt Smith will be back for "The Crown" Season 2 to play the role as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Den of Geek reported that regular casts will still return for the second season. The new casts will also be added including Antony Armstrong-Jones, who will play as Lord Snowdon the society photographer. Snowdon married Princess Margaret from 1960-1978.

"The Crown" Season 2 will cover the period between 1955 and 1964 wherein England will be fighting an Illegal war against Egypt. Lots of stories will be covered this season including the resignation of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan after the alleged scandal.

Harpers Bazaar also confirmed that the recent Queen Elizabeth and King Phillip, Claire Foy and Matt Smith really need to switch faces after "The Crown" Season 2. As every season needs an aging character, as well as years, are also getting older and in order to make it more realistic.

"The Crown" Season 2 might not just change the royals but including the other characters as well. This would surely sadden the fans as they are used to watching Foy and Smith in the series.

In addition "The Crown" Season 2 will also focus on the two men on Queen Elizabeth's life including her husband and her son Prince Charles. Netflix also confirmed that Michael C. Hall will be joining the casts together with Jodi Balfour to play the roles as Jack and Jackie Kennedy in the hit series.

Currently, "The Crown" Season 2 is filming in London and is set to cover the 1960's special events. Air date is yet unannounced.
