Sonos To Integrate Alexa, Google Into Single Outdoor Speaker

After the sudden change of management and CEO of Sonos, there will also be changes on its products. The Sonos speakers is one of the major product of Sonos in terms of the market in wireless speakers.

According to the New York Times, John MacFarlane has recently resigned from Sonos. He had served the company as the Chief Executive of Sonos for 14 years. It cannot be denied that Sonos has been doing well despite having Apple and Bose as major competitors in the speakers market. At present, he was already replaced by one of the deputies in the company-Patrick Spence.

On the other hand, Sonos wireless speakers had a major threat on Amazon's Echo. Sonos did not expect that Amazon will be launching such kind of speakers with amazing specifications. Also, Sonos' new CEO, Spence mentioned in an interview that the competition in the market is no longer like the previous years. It is now becoming tougher as Google and Amazon are now entering the market of audio technologies. Google has already launched Google Home while Amazon launched Echo. Both are voice-controlled aligned with the increase of online music channels like Spotify around the world.

Meanwhile, according to The Verge, Patrick Spence of Sonos gave some hints of the future of Sonos products as he takes the role of the new CEO. He mentioned that Sonos will be trying their best to engage with outdoor speakers. He emphazised figuratively that Sonos can be a Switzerland of those wireless speakers as Siri, Alexa, and Google can be founf on Sonos speakers.

Moreover, Spence was asked if Sonos could definitely shift intoa lower price as competition is getting tougher. "Definitely things like sound quality continue to be really important to what we do. I think that reliability and quality of the Sonos experience ... People know it's rock solid." Spence stressed out in the interview.
