Fans of the Disney series “Girl Meets World” believe that it suffered a rather premature cancellation. It had its series finale in January but its fans have not totally given up hope that a new network will pick it up and bring it back on air. But, it’s looking more and more like a lost cause.

The series finale titled, “Girl Meets Goodbye”, really appeared to be the end of the series with even the cast of its original series “Boy Meets World” appeared. Series creator Michael Jacobs, however, shared that the show had an untimely death. He believed that there are still many stories left to be told.

Jacobs further hinted that “Girl Meets World” will have an incarnation in another venue. He feels that there is another network that realizes that the audience loves the show reports TV Line. He added that he is hoping for a chance to get both the audience of the two series together.

It looks like Jacobs is in for some disappointment, however. It seems that there is no network that is willing to pick up the cancelled show. Even Netflix, which was once considered as the most likely to be the show’s savior, has announced that it will not renew it according to The Wrap. To make matters worse, the streaming giant won’t even be streaming the new episodes of “Girl Meets World” online.

There were also rumors right after the show’s cancellation announcement that Freeform may make “Girl Meets World” Season 4 happen. After all, it is under the same company as Disney and ABC, the network of the original series, “Boy Meets World”. However, many point out that if Freeform was indeed interested in the show, the mother company should have just announced the move instead of announcing its cancellation.

It does look like that the rest of Riley and Maya’s story will remain untold. Because of its failure to find a new home, “Girl Meets World” may have indeed reached its end.
