Angelina Jolie Opens About A Difficult Year During Premiere Of Her Film

Angelina Jolie recently premiered her new film, "First They Killed My Father." The director-actress opens up about a tough year and how the film-shaped politics and Cambodia, which is really close to her heart.

Angelina Jolie's upcoming film "First They Killed My Father" revolved around the regime of Khmer Rough, which was known as one of the worst times in Cambodia. The film was told by a child, wherein Rouge's ruling, which ran from 1975 to 1979 he was responsible for killing around two million Cambodians. The film was solely based on the story told by Long Ung.

Long Ung was a child when the troops of Khmer Rouge, who were led by Pol Pot forcefully took her family to labor camps. Luckily, Ung, who was 5-years-old at that time escaped the camp and fled to the United states.

Angelina Jolie struck the hearts of her viewers, wherein BBC pointed out that "First They Killed My Father" is Jolie's second film that featured the dark part of countries who suffered from genocide. The film, which was made by Netflix, however, is said to be special to her as it featured the country where she adopted her first son, Maddox, who encouraged her to pursue the film.

The film might have been a great success, but during its premiere, Angelina Jolie opens up about a difficult year during the premiere of her film. The actress, along with six of her children with ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

It's Angelina Jolie's first time to make an appearance since she filed for divorce last year. During an interview, she mentioned that it's a difficult time for the rest of the family, have but she makes it a point that her focus is on her children.

"It was very difficult," Jolie said. "Many people find themselves in this situation. My whole famhasall been through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children. We are and forever will be a family and so that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."
