Just a few days left now for Oscars 2017, here is news for all Meryl Streep fans, as we call it her effect, US President Donald Trump and her supermodel wife Melania Trump will not be watching the award ceremony. Thanks to Meryl Streep again!

On Wednesday at the daily press briefing, when the White house press secretary Sean Spicer was inquired about Donald Trump's interest in the 89th Academy Awards, he revealed the details.

"I think Hollywood is known for being rather far to the left in its opinions, and I've got to be honest with you, I think the president will be hosting the Governors' Ball that night," Spicer revealed as per a report published in US Weekly.

He also revealed that there is a phenomenal event to which Mrs Trump is looking forward to. She will be extremely busy in welcoming the nation's governors to the Capital. According to him, the president and the first lady will be putting their attention to this event on Sunday, when the awards will be telecasted.

Explaining further, Trump's close associate also slammed Meryl Streep's Golden Globes speech, which created stir in Hollywood and off-course in the eyes of Donald Trump. We remember exactly, how Trump called the now 20th time Oscar award nominee "an over-rated actress" and tagged her as a "Hillary lover" as per Variety.

While, for her spellbound performance in "Florence Foster Jenkins", Streep has received her 20th Academy Award nomination. The 89th Academy Awards might be a politically charged event as many winners might come forward to voice their hatred for the 45th President of the United States, especially because of the latest executive orders for immigrants, imposed by Trump.

For the past many years, Trump has shared his criticism for the Academy several times. There was also a bizarre suggestion from his side that the Academy should invite him to host the Oscars. The Awards will broadcast on ABC this Sunday, February 26 at 8 p.m. ET.
