Ben Affleck’s Life Reportedly Downhill; Jennifer Garner Plans To Make Divorce Official

For a while now, former couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have been living separate lives after deciding to split in June 2015. For two years, fans were hopeful that the two would sort things out and eventually get back together; however, sources now claim that Garner is officially filing for divorce from Affleck.

A source revealed to US Weekly that Garner is planning to make his split from Affleck official. Even so, it is said that the exes remain committed to working together to raise a healthy family.

"No matter what happens, Ben and Jen are committed to raising their family as one unit and will continue to do so as it has worked for them," a source close to the couple reveals. "They are both committed to their family."

On the other hand, Affleck is reportedly down in the dumps ever since his break up with Garner, and even more so today after suffering losses with his recent movies. Affleck's directorial effort, the gangster film "Live By Night" which he also produced and starred in, amassed only $16.5 million globally despite its $65 million production budget. Some reports also claim that Affleck has increasingly becoming an alcoholic and has grown addicted to gambling.

It was previously reported that Affleck's alleged affair with the couple's nanny, Christine Ouzounian, factored into the split. The "Alias" star denied the rumors in an interview with Vanity Fair.

"We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation," Garner said.

Even years after living separate lives, Affleck and Garner's relationship continued to be amicable and they were regularly spotted hanging out with their three children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. Affleck and Garner were married for 10 years before they split.

In the Vanity Fair interview, Garner even opened up about her feelings for Affleck, whom she described as the "most brilliant person in any room" and that he was "the love of [her] life."

"I didn't marry the big fat movie star; I married him," Garner said. "And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again."

"He's just a complicated guy," she added. "I always say, 'When his sun shines on you, you feel it.' But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it's cold. He can cast quite a shadow."
