Vanessa Hudgens and YLA have released their video for "$$ex." In it the Spring Breakers star and friends rave around her house and use every single video filter and Final Cut effect known to man. Check it out below:

The video is just bad. I can't help but feeling that Beavis and Butthead  would have had an absolute field day with this one. The teaser for the track featured fighting with pool noodles, sucking on popsicles and giving the camera the finger. The actual video can't even manage that level of subtlety. (For chrissakes, the last words of many lines are said, printed on screen and mimed by the girls singing them).

Hudgens claims that the video was ""90s-inspired, gritty, with a vision of crazy lights and colors. It's so different than everything else out there. I love it!"

While the video and song may have been aiming for 90s raver, it landed firmly in 00s MySpace scene music, bringing back bad flashbacks to Medic Droid-style acts.

Hudgens released the video on Twitter and Tumblr saying the following:

"You've been asking and we couldn't wait ANY longer so....HERE IT IS!! $$EX the video. Enjoy! :) ps. Props to the insanely talented YLA ladies for producing and directing this video themselves. Love love love it."

What do you think of the video by Spring Breakers' Vanessa Hudgens and JLA? Is it "different than everything else out there"? Is that a good thing? How about the song? Is $$ex your new summer jam?
