Ian Somerhalder & Paul Wesley Pauses Acting Career; Ian Plans To Have Children With Nikki Reed

As "The Vampire Diaries" aired its final episode for its final season, many fans were heartbroken and have found its ending unacceptable. Despite protests, CW and Julie Plec were determined to end the story of the Salvatore Brothers, Elena Gilbert and the others. With these decision, many wonder on what is next for "The Vampire Diaries" cast?

As for the Salvatore Brothers, Ian Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley are certainly moving on from "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale. Leading men of Nina Dobrev assure fans that as of now, the network decided not to continue any chapter or start another spin-off from the well-loved series, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"I think I'm closing the chapter," Paul Wesley stated. "In 10 years I'm going to be living probably on a ranch in Wyoming and you'll never hear from me again, " Ian Somerhalder who once dated Nina Dobrev in real-life shared in an interview.

Ian Somerhalder might be joking from his statement but some fans started to speculate that maybe the actor will indeed focus on settling down. With his success from "The Vampire Diaries," Ian might actually take a break from acting and focus on directing, given his directing experience for some The Vampire Diaries" episodes. On the other hand, he may have planned to start a family soon with his wife Nikki Reed.

In his interview with Modern Luxury magazine, Somerhalder gushed about his wife, saying he feels so lucky that he married Nikki Reed, also known as Rosalie from the "Twilight" Saga. "The second we were around each other, and not [dating] other people, we just knew. Oh, I will one day have amazing children with my beautiful wife. Absolutely, definitely," Ian said. "I am so blessed that I did, indeed, find this human being that can deal with me and is also the most caring, compassionate person I've ever known. That's why I wake up happy."

For Paul Wesley, he might solely focus with his directing career as he recently broke up with "The Originals" lead actress, Phoebe Tonkin. Like Ian Somerhalder, Paul had also directed some episodes of "The Vampire Diaries". Meanwhile, the Somerhalder couple and Nina Dobrev finally shut down rumors of cheating, backstabbing and feud by posting photos of them together to address the baseless tabloids.
