The release of the second film of James Cameron's Pandora universe "Avatar 2" has been delayed again. Fans have to wait a little longer because rumored release date on Christmas of 2018 won't be happening again.

James Cameron has ruined the 2018 Christmas year of Avatar fans after announcing that the second sequel in the planned five-part film series has been delayed for the third time. The movie "Avatar 2" is supposedly scheduled to hit theaters in December 2014.

"Well, 2018 is not happening, we haven't announced a firm release date. What people have to understand is that this is a cadence of releases," according to Cameron in an interview with Toronto Star.

Cameron also pointed out that they're not just making the second sequel, but also 3, 4 and 5. According to the 62-year-old director, it took them four and half years to complete the "Avatar" movie since it is not just merely creating a simple one but an epic undertaking.

"Avatar 2" was initially scheduled to release in 2014, while Avatar 3 is set to release in 2020, followed by Avatar 4 in 2022 and Avatar 5 in 2023. However, because of the recent delays, it might affect the release dates of the other sequels.

Lead stars of the movie "Avatar," Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington will return in the sequel as Neytiri and Jake Sully, joining them on their return is actor Stephen Lang. Meanwhile, Sigourney Weaver will star in a different role, shared Eonline.

In the meantime, "Avatar" fans will be much delighted as Pandora-The World of Avatar will open at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom this summer in Florida.  Paul Harris gave the fans a sneak peak of the attraction. It is like flying on the back of a banshee, walk under floating mountains and journey down a mystical river where the forest comes alive in a brilliant bio-luminescent glow.
