Beyonce has announced a new song titled "Rise Up" for the soundtrack of 20th Century Fox's movie Epic. The song was written by pop songwriting savant  Sia and produced by big time names Hit-Boy and Chase N Cashe.

Epic follows a girl named Mary Katherine who, upon being shrunken by a magical leaf, discovers a race of tiny, forest warriors. She helps the warriors take on their nemesis Mandrake and his army known as the Boggans. Of course, during all this she is also trying to find a way to return to her normal size and head home.

Beyonce will be lending her voice to Epic in more ways than one. On top of the song "Rise Up," Bey plays the role of Queen (obviously) Tara, a ruler of the forest in which the animated film is set. She isn't the only musician that Epic cast as voice talent. Pitbull plays a toad named Bufo and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith plays a caterpillar named Nim Galuu.

As of right now, there seem to be no plans to release "Rise Up" as a single. It likely won't be attached to any Beyonce albums and the Epic soundtrack is just the Danny Elfman score. However, I'm sure as the movie gets closer, some kind soul will put a clip up on YouTube to let us bask in its Bey-ness.
