Ed Sheeran has confirmed that he will join the line-up for annual Glastonbury festival. Previously, there has been rumor channeling that this pop singer will cast his talent in this highly anticipated festival. As of now, Ed himself crushes such rumor and announces that he will join the headliners to heat up this event.

According to The Guardian, Ed Sheeran passes on the good news via a short video recorded in his concert avenue in Turin, Italy. Through this video which was posted on Instagram, "The Shape of You" singer stated: "I want to make an announcement. I am headlining Glastonbury on the Sunday night, which is awesome." Presumably, Ed will take over its last night slot on June 25.

According to BBC, it is not the first time for Ed Sheeran to have an opportunity to perform on this Pyramid Stage. In 2011, Ed opened his performance at Glastonbury shortly after introducing his debut album on BBC. Three years after that, Ed made his return to Somerset in 2014 after he got himself known as the world praised singer.

Ed Sheeran headlining Glastonbury adds to the line-up as it is confirmed Foo Fighters and Radiohead will step up as the headliner, Mail Online reported. Previously, Foo Fighter reportedly will again perform at Glastonbury on Friday night, after previously have to cancel their performance in 2015 as the lead singer Dave Grohl broke his leg. Meanwhile, Radiohead who has a long absence from this festival will fill Saturday evening slot.

Though fans accept it as a good news, it is not the case for people who want to enjoy Glastonbury. Many poured their complaint about Glastonbury headliner this time around after Ed Sheeran joining this event was announced. It was because they wanted a diversity headliner and thereof some of them wished to get a refund. Besides, as Ed has been confirmed his appearance as the headliner, other performers need to certify their presence on this annual festival.
