Eleven may not be the only person alive in "Stranger Things" Season 2 as Matthew Modine recently teased his return to the series. Likewise, the Upside Down is more active than before according to the show's composers.

Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is alive though her whereabouts remain a mystery in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Season 1 saw her disappear after she killed the monster from the Upside Down. As far as the cliffhanger hinted, Sheriff Hopper may be the only person who knows where Eleven is and that she is alive. Why else would he leave those Eggos for her in the jungle hatch?

Regardless, "Stranger Things" Season 2 not only brings Eleven back but also delves into her backstory. Series creator Matt Duffer revealed that the installment reveals an emotional story for Eleven. "We learn about where she came from and how she came into the world and the program that resulted in her," Duffer told Entertainment Weekly.

Aside from Eleven, Dr. Brenner aka Papa (Matthew Modine) also returns in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Modine teased his return to the show on his Instagram. He shared his photo and tagged Brown (see video below). He added the caption, "more to be revealed, uncovered." The image has since been deleted, which only fuels speculations that Papa is alive after the monster attacked him in Season 1.

Likewise, Modine has since expressed his interest to be in "Stranger Things" Season 2. He even confirmed the installment, even before Netflix announced the renewal.

Meanwhile, another anticipated comeback in "Stranger Things" Season 2 is the Upside Down. There will be more of the dark alternate world in the installment, according to the show's musical composer Kyle Dixon. According to Digital Spy, Dixon confirmed that the installment digs deeper into the mysterious world of the Upside Down. "There are new characters, fun, and the Upside Down will be more of a place... you'll spend more time," he said.

It seems that gigantic spiderlike creature teased in the "Stranger Things" Season 2 trailer is one of the new monsters from the Upside Down. Likewise, the dark place continues to exist in Will's mind. He hallucinates about it and struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder from his time spent in the Upside Down.
