Australian DJ sampling group The Avalanches haven't released any new music in 13 years. Their classic Since I Left You came out in 2000. The title turned out to be more telling than anyone expected because the breakthrough debut still remains thier only album. I'd be lying if i said "Frontier Psychiatrist" and the title track don't still get regular play in my car, so I may be a bit more excited than the next guy about this news: The Avalanches have new music. They've contributed a remix of "Get Happy" to a new musical adaptation of King Kong that premieres at Melbourne's Regent Theatre May 28.

The musical also contains music from 3D from Massive Attack, Sarah McLachlan, Justice and Guy Garvey from Elbow. The music is being compiled and handled by composer and arranger Marius de Vries, whose previous credits include Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet. That sentence either made you groan or made you really excited.
