Jennifer Garner set aside her happy home life with her three kids to jet to Atlanta, Georgia. There, the actress is busy filming for her new role in the movie "Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda."

The 44-year-old actress spoke in front of Congress on Thursday last week as she campaigned for early childhood education. However, on Monday, Jennifer Garner had on her "Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda" persona while filming in Atlanta. The film is an adaptation of a Becky Abertalli novel of the same title, published in 2015, People shared.

For the film, Jennifer Garner plays the mother of Simon, a homosexual teenage boy living in Atlanta. Simon, however, has kept the true nature of his sexuality under wraps since he realized it. Unfortunately, a classmate of his discovered his secret and began to blackmail him. The film will show how he struggled to come out to his peers after that incident, Mail Online wrote.

Starring alongside Jennifer Garner are Josh Duhamel, Katherine Langford, Logan Miller and Tony Hale. Teenaged Simon will be portrayed by Nick Robinson, who played Zach Mitchell in "Jurassic World." The coming-of-age film set in Atlanta is being directed by Greg Berlanti who has worked on The CW's superhero shows "The Flash," "Arrow" and "Supergirl."

Meanwhile, the "Alias" alum's estranged husband Ben Affleck recently finished his treatment for alcohol addiction. Last week, the "Argo" actor publicly thanked his wife Jennifer Garner and his family for their support throughout the entire ordeal. The 44-year-old said that he wanted to be the best father to his children with Jennifer Garner: Violet, 11; Seraphina, 7; and Sam, 5. In fact, he had been spending time with his two elder children last week. At the time of his Facebook announcement, the mother of three had not yet begun shooting for the film in Atlanta.
