Though earlier this year "The Winds of Winter" is reminded to be issued in a little while, it is nowhere to be found until now. Fans went crazy as they were previously faced with a cliffhanger but the sequel still stuck on George R.R. Martin's hand. However, it seems like fans need to be more patient as George RR Martin hinted that this series of "A Song of Ice and Fire" is still in process. Here is why Martin takes a long time to complete this work.

Recently, Martin once again emphasized he was more of a gardener than an architect in writing, Fansided reported. He preferred to write stories in which it was not planned ahead as he realized that something planned never worked for him. Consequently, he required much time to finish his work since he had to go along with the narrative. For that reason, "The Winds of Winter" called for ages to be concluded.

Moreover, Martin reportedly was also preoccupied with the setting up of Stagecoach Foundation project in his home city, Santa Fe. It stole much of his time, but he stated he always made the chance to write "The Winds of Winter". He then stated he wished for extra time in a day so he could wind up all his abandoned tasks.

However, Martin lately got busier as false rumors about his foundation initiative circulated through media. He admitted it stunned him, so he decided to fight those errors in person, The Daily Telegraph reported. Therefore, it means Martin once again lost lots of his time writing "The Winds of Winter".

On the other hand, a great news is put out as Martin said there is "lots of stuff with HBO that I cannot talk about yet." It indicated there had been talks about a new series for HBO based on his work. However, as fans have to put up with "The Winds of Winter", they also have to bear with the said new series as Martin has not given out his confirmation for this to happen.
