Following the sad split of John Mayer and Katy Perry in 2014, things seem to be turning around. The "Roar" singer has since moved on with Orlando Bloom, whom she recently broke up with. Mayer, on the other hand, misses his old flame.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, John Mayer admitted that his new song talks about Katy Perry. When asked if the song was talking about his feelings and lost love, he did not hesitate to agree. "Who else would I be thinking about?" he said.

John Mayer went on to explain that not having dated a lot of girls in the past five or six years is a "testament" that he was indeed thinking of Katy Perry while writing the song. Being with Perry was his "only relationship." The song is titled "Still Feel Like Your Man."

While John Mayer was dubbed as a "bad boy" over the past couple of years, it appears he is ready for a change. Katy Perry may also be part of the change that he wants as he turns 40. He has realized that while his career is doing great, he may be "running late" in terms of his personal life.

Page Six notes that the timing may be right for John Mayer and Katy Perry. The "Chained to the Rhythm" singer has recently called it quits with Orlando Bloom. It was confirmed that the couple have broken up after over a year of dating.

When John Mayer and Katy Perry split, fans were saddened since they looked perfect together. A source close to Mayer told PEOPLE last year that the two had a lot of differences. Mayer, being 36 years old then, seemed to get tired with of the then 29-year-old's partying sprees.

Katy Perry has yet to air her thoughts on the recent revelation from John Mayer. It is speculated that there is a chance the former flames will rekindle their love.
