It's been years since the movie adaptation of Scott Cawthon's "Five Nights at Freddy's" was announced. However, there was no progress. Recent reports suggest that it is still in the works and Blumhouse is taking over the production.

Scott Cawthon shared a photo of a chair printed with "Freddy" with a screen behind it that reads Blumhouse Productions. Fans were quick to speculate that Blumhouse is taking over the production of the anticipated "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros and New Line put a turnaround for the "FNAF" film. Lion Gates and Screen Gems chased for this project too.

Gil Kenan is set to direct the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie. Meanwhile, David Katzenberg, Seth Grahame-Smith and Roy Lee are producing.

Last month, Scott Cawthon gave an update on the progress of "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie where he announced that they were back to square one. His announcement disappointed fans who thought they will be hearing good news about the "FNAF" film when Cawthon teased that he will be giving an update about its production.

"The reality is that last year the FNaF movie was met with several delays and roadblocks, some involving problems within the movie industry as a whole," Scott Cawthon wrote on Steam about the progress of the film. "As a result, as of right now, the movie is back at square one. "

Scott Cawthon further explained that his announcement was bad as it meant there was no progress for "The Five Nights at Freddy's" film. However, he said that it is also exciting and good at the same time because he will be involved in the development of the film moving forward.
