Carmelo Anthony is a regular in the NBA trade rumors. New reports suggest that the small forward might return to his original home court, Denver Nuggets.

Carmelo Anthony started his NBA career with Nuggets. According to Metro, Denver fans are still hurting over his departure in 2011. However, there is a potential reunion for Anthony and Nuggets if the trade with Danilo Gallinari will be pushed.

Per the report, Carmelo Anthony will be traded with Danilo Gallinari. Anthony is going to Nuggets while Gallinari will replace him in New York Knicks.

With Carmelo Anthony's market value falling down, Nuggets need not give up so much to have him in the team again. Reports are rife that they need a veteran talent to accelerate the process of building Nikola Jokic. Anthony can help them pursue this.

Carmelo Anthony spent the first seven and a half years of his NBA career in Nuggets after he was selected as the third overall pick in 2003 draft. He led the team to seven straight playoffs and was two wins away from getting into the NBA Finals in 2009.

However, in 2011, Nuggets decided to trade Carmelo Anthony in a three-team deal. New York Knicks was ecstatic after acquiring the four-time All-Star.

"At 26 years old, Carmelo is in the prime of his NBA career having already established himself as a one of the game's elite players and the opportunity to add him to our roster was one we could not pass up," Knicks President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh said, NBA reported. "I feel we now have a great frontcourt tandem in Amar'e and Carmelo and this is an exciting day for the New York Knicks and all our fans. It is extremely difficult to trade away players, but we feel like the team is in better position to win and we have excellent players to build around for years to come."
