Harry Styles' first solo single "Sign of the Times" landed the number one spot in the UK charts, beating Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You." The song also sold millions of copies and is the most streamed song of the week.

Harry Styles beat Ed Sheeran in the UK charts, when "Sign of the Times" took No. 1 and "Shape of You" landed at No. 2. Sheeran's "Galway Girl" is at No. 3. According to The Independent, Styles' single knocked Sheeran's song from its 13-week hold on the number one spot.

Likewise, "Sign of the Times" sold 3,000 copies more than Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You." The Official Charts Company declared Harry Styles' single as the most streamed song of the week. It had nearly seven million plays.

Ed Sheeran's track, on the other hand, only had 3.5 million streams. "Shape of You" also did not do well on the physical sales compared to Harry Styles' "Sign of the Times." According to Unreality TV, the song only had 39, 000 downloads. Regardless, "Shape of You" remains on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other songs from Sheeran's album, called "Divide," are also littered across the Top 10 charts. These include "Castle on the Hill" and "Galway Girl."

Harry Styles revealed the title of his first solo single as "Sign of the Times" on March 27. He released the song on April 7. He performed the song live during a recent guest appearance on "Saturday Night Live." The 23-year old also sang a song from his solo album.

"Sign of the Times" is one of the songs from his self-titled album. "Harry Styles" has 10 tracks including "Ever Since New York," which he performed on "Saturday Night Live." Styles recently announced the release of his first solo record on his Instagram page. The album comes out on May 12.
