Christina Aguilera is set to return to 'The Voice,' for it's fifth season, to replace Shakira as a talent coach, and Cee Lo Green is also negotiating his return to the show.

Aguilera and Cee Lo Green both took off from season four in order to promote other aspects of their career, MTV reports. Aguilera was promoting her new album entitled, 'Lotus', while Green was working on his show, 'Loberace Las Vegas', as well as other projects.

Producer, Mark Burnett told Deadline, ""Everybody can't coach for life because when you have people with current recording in the game, this is not their job. Their job is their fans and making music and being live, and so we knew from the beginning that this would happen, and we've had six coaches. They all have another life and their schedules," according to the Inquisitr.

Aguilera has already signed her contract to return to the NBC musical talent competition, an executive insider with knowledge of the deal informed The Wrap.  She will be paid $12.5 million to be part of season five, the executive said.  However, another insider said that she had made about $17 million during season three and she may earn high figures like that again this season, depending on how many hours she appears.

Meanwhile, Green is in the advanced stages of his negotiations to secure his return on the show, according to Digital Spy.  An unidentified NBC executive told The Wrap, "We are not there yet, but working toward it."

Aguilera is expected to make substantially more than Green when/if they both return, a source said, according to Radar Online.

In addition to talk of Aguilera and Green's return to the show, there is also speculation that Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will also be returning for season five, according to MTV.  They were among the original talent coaches when the singing competition began in 2011, Digital Spy reports.

NBC did not officially announce any changes at its upfront presentation for 2013/2014 on Monday and the Network at large has yet to officially comment on the reports, Digital Spy reports.

'The Voice' airs on NBC every Monday and Tuesday night at 8/7 c.  It has recently risen to the top of reality talent show ranks in the past four seasons and has replaced 'American Idol' in the Emmy race last year, according to The Wrap.
