The team working on "Game of Thrones" has just revealed that four spin-offs are being planned for "Game of Thrones" fans. While this is good news for many, it could be bad for some. It could affect the release of "The Winds of Winter."

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that "Game of Thrones" will potentially have four spin-offs for the many fans who don't want the franchise to end. The four stories will explore the different time periods within the world that author George R.R. Martin created. Before getting excited, fans should consider something very important.

Until now, Martin has not announced the official release date of "The Winds of Winter." Since there are four spin-offs being planned for "Game of Thrones," this could mean something fans are dreading. It could mean further delay for the highly anticipated book sequel.

"Game of Thrones" is yet to unveil its seventh season on HBO. With four other spin-offs waiting to be worked on, it will keep George R.R. Martin busy. Viewers know very well that the aged author is closely working with the production team of "GOT." This could affect his work on "The Winds of Winter."

The New York Times adds that there will be four writers helping out with the "Game of Thrones" spin-offs. The team includes Carly Wray, Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland, and Max Borenstein. This could also mean that GRRM will have all the time he needs to finally finish "The Winds of Winter."

With four other writers helping out for the upcoming "Game of Thrones" spin-offs, fans believe George R.R. Martin has all the reasons to focus on "TWOW." Still others are worried that he still cannot complete the seventh novel in his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. On the other hand, fans are looking forward to what the spin-offs have to offer.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to be aired sometime this year. Stay tuned for more news and updates on the hit HBO series.
