Jay-Z Gushes Over Blue Ivy Carter Says His Mother Gloria Carter

As if it wasn't evident from his absolutely bonkers Easter earlier this year, Shawn "Jay-Z/Jigga/Hov" Carter has quite a soft spot for his firstborn, Blue Ivy Carter. According to his mother Gloria Carter, Jay "melts" when he's around his daughter (which is good because rumor has it wife Beyonce may have one more on the way).

"It warms my heart to see how he interacts with his daughter," Jigga's mom told Us Weekly. "And when she says, 'Papa,' he just melts. He's a great dad."

Gloria continued to say that she's enjoying playing grandma to 16 month old Blue Ivy, especially when compared to the hard times she suffered as a single mother of three children.

"The amazing thing about being a grandmother is that you go get the kids, but when you're tired, you can take them home!" she said.

Gloria even shared some insight into how Blue Ivy is growing.

"She's very very smart," Carter said. "But [the TV show Babies Choice] teaches the babies that when you say hello, that means you're going to be around. But when you say, 'bye bye,' it means you're going to disappear. So when you're around her, when she looks at you and she's tired of you, she looks at you and she says, 'bye bye!'"

As for the pregnancy rumors, Gloria thinks that the superstar couple would be open to having more children. When asked whether Bey and Jay would consider giving her more grandchildren, she responded with an enthusiastic "I think so!"
