Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman) and his sinister plans will continue to wreak havoc in “Criminal Minds” Season 13. This much is a sure thing according to EP Erica Messer. She also added that there might be a connection between the criminal, Lindsey (Gia Mantegna) and Cat’s (Aubrey Plaza) stories. This is very likely since it was Lindsey who helped get Spencer back in the recently concluded season.

The season finale that aired on Wednesday also saw the return of Shemar Moore who left the series in season 11. He once again played his role as Derek but this time it was as a civilian instead of a FBI agent. He was seen in the final moments of the episode. Although many fans would want to see more of Moore in “Criminal Minds” Season 13, his stint was only a one-off. The actor already committed to be in the CBS “S.W.A.T.” reboot, which is likely to get a series order soon says Entertainment Weekly.

Also in the last episode of the season, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) went to what they thought was Mr. Scratch’s location only to discover that it was a trap. A bunch of spike strips were thrown in that caused the team’s vehicles to be derailed and just as an 18-wheeler plowed into them.

The vehicle that David (Joe Mantegna), Emily (Paget Brewster) and Tara (Aisha Tyler) were riding got most of the damage from the accident. Meanwhile, the car with Luke (Adam Rodriguez), JJ (A.J. Cook) and Stephen (Damon Gupton) was swiped. Messer hinted that “Criminal Minds” Season 13 will pick up right after the accident reports TV Guide.

Messer and her staff will be getting back to work by the first week of June to work on the new season. According to her, Mr. Scratch will still be around for “Criminal Minds” Season 13. Messer revealed that they opened the possibility of the criminal being caught last season but they decided to keep him until the show’s 300th episode. It is likely that he will stay on throughout the new season.
