Harry Styles' eponymous solo album is a success, and he is getting ready for his first world your going solo. His rivalry with ex-boyband mate Zayn Malik is heating up as album sales results came up. X-Factor Boss Simon Cowell has called Styles to congratulate him for his solo career success.

Styles' self-titled album made a record-breaking debut this week. The sales are hands-down historic, with 230,000 album copies sold in its first week and 193,000 of the figures are derived from traditional album sales, as reported by Billboard. This makes Styles' album debut the biggest sales week for a U.K male artist's first full-length album since 1991. This record was seized from Sam Smith, with his album "In the Lonely Hour" back in 2014 selling 166,000 copies.

Malik's first solo album last year took also made a lot of sales, but nevertheless got a smaller figure when compared to that of Styles. Malik's debut solo album reached 156,000 sales plus streaming hits over its first week. Not a bad for a first week, but not as strong compared to Styles' record, hitting home with more than 100,000 sales.

Looks like X-Factor's boss Simon Cowell is also proud of the results from Styles' solo career. In an interview with The Times, Styles admitted that he had been in touch with his former coach in the phone two weeks ago. Cowell congratulated the the singer for his solo career success and how proud he is for the release of Styles' single.

He said he really liked it and he was very proud of me. It was very friendly... not like the past phone calls haven't been friendly, but I didn't get the nervy 'the boss is calling' feel, which was nice." Styles elaborated.
