Famous Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio announced to donate $20 million in combating the climate change. The actor made this announcement on Tuesday evening at the Yale University.

Popular actor Leonardo DiCaprio recently attended a conference on climate change. The Yale alumnus and the former U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, moderated this two-day conference. The conference had five sessions that included several important topics, like future of energy, private sector's role, international and local efforts, and others.

While attending the conference at the Yale University, Leonardo DiCaprio discussed many important facts. According to People, the actor even reserved harsh words for the current position of the U.S. President and his administration on the global warming. The popular actor uttered that more than one hundred organizations are actively playing many important roles at home and abroad.

These organizations are active in protecting endangered species, forests, and oceans for the future generations. They are also tackling the existential and urgent challenges of the climate change. Leonardo DiCaprio clearly suggested in his speech that they were proud to support the works of these grantees.

According to the LEONARDO DICAPRIO FOUNDATION, the actor suggested for a major shift from the fossil fuels to a world powered by the renewable energy. The actor also added that several proven technologies in clean transportation, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy would be very helpful to build the bright future. While delivering his words Leonardo DiCaprio uttered about the key challenge of the present times. The challenge included finding new ways to power the lives, employ a huge number of people, and to prepare every individual as an advocate for drinkable water and clean air.

Leonardo DiCaprio suggested that politicians should accept the climate science to make bold commitments and to act in time. He even mentioned about the withdrawal from the important Paris climate accord by the U.S. President. According to him, the said step weakened the efforts in combating the global warming. He even suggested that the U.S. could play the lead role in tackling the global warming.
