Latino Stars Extend Helping Hand For The Puerto Ricans Affected By Hurricane Maria

Latino stars of the entertainment arena came forward to help the Hurricane Maria victims. The celebrities took a flight to the Puerto Rico to provide relief to the affected people.

The list of the Latino stars includes a series of big names, like Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi, Nicky Jam, Gloria Estefan, Emilio Estefan, and Chayanne. These celebrities boarded the "Precious Airplane" of the Jet Blue in Fort Lauderdale that was bound for the San Juan, Puerto Rico. According to People, apart from the celebrities, the aircraft also carried water, food, and many essential necessities for the Hurricane Maria victims.

The editor in chief of the People en Espanol, Armando Correa, who was a part of this trip uttered significantly about this initiative by the Latino stars. He revealed that the trip aimed to help the victims of Puerto Rico and to make the whole world aware of the humanitarian crisis there. The editor also added that above one million people on this island have no food, no water, no electricity. In the U.S. a lot of people even failed to communicate with their families and not aware of their condition after Hurricane Maria hit the area.

Meanwhile, the Latino stars attended an immediate press conference after landing at the Luis Munoz Marin International Airport on Monday morning. The celebrities also shared photos of the journey to Puerto Rico. Popular star Fonsi even captioned a picture posted on the Instagram page that suggests they finally arrived to work unitedly.

A few days ago two Hollywood celebrities Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony also extended their helping hands to the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. According to NBC NEWS, both the celebrities were born to Puerto Rican parents. Like the Latino stars, these two celebrities have also taken initiative to help the people affected by the recent natural disasters. The name of this humanitarian initiative is "SOMOS UNA VOZ".

Now, the important thing is JetBlue's famous 100x35JetBlue program sponsored the entire trip of the Latino stars to Puerto Rico. Actually, the airline created this program to provide relief following the devastating consequences of Hurricane Maria. Notably, the name "100x35JetBlue" suggests the commitment of the company in providing aids to Puerto Rico for the next 100 days applying 35 initiatives.
