A recent rumor has hinted that Chinese smartphone company OnePlus will release the OnePlus 6 in early 2018. The company has already released its 2017 flagship handset, OnePlus 5.

After surfacing the OnePlus 5 model, rumors suggested that the company would bring the OnePlus 5T model. Earlier in 2016, the BBK Electronics - owned smartphone manufacturer released the OnePlus 3T after releasing the OnePlus 3. But, it seems that this year the company may not follow the same path.

Sources say the phone maker OnePlus may bring the new OnePlus 6 handset directly after its last flagship device OnePlus 5. According to Android Headlines, sources have not yet revealed any specific reason behind the Chinese company's supposed decision. Rumors say the said upcoming smartphone may feature a relatively bezel-less form with a 6-inch display panel.

Most of the flagship handsets of OnePlus including the last one have the 5.5-inch display. Some past reports suggested that OnePlus would avail a QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution for the OnePlus 6 handset. But, if the company wants to have the bezel-less display for the upcoming phone then its screen must have the QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440) resolution. That means the company has to avail the 18:9 (2:1) widescreen aspect ratio instead of the 16:9 aspect ratio.

No doubt, the fingerprint sensor of the upcoming handset would be placed on the back panel due to its bezel-less display. This new OnePlus phone also could not afford any physical Home button. Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 6 may have two variants containing 8GB and 6GB of RAM.

According to GSM Arena, the OnePlus 3 has Snapdragon 820 chipset. But, when the company brought its revised version 3T, then the handset features Snapdragon 821. Similarly, the new model of OnePlus could boast the Snapdragon 845 processor compared to the Snapdragon 835 of the 2017 model.

Notably, the OnePlus5 handset with 6GB of RAM has 64GB internal storage. On the other hand, the 8GB RAM variant gives 128GB internal storage, and none of the two has the slot for the microSD card. Now, the new one could have these same specs if OnePlus will follow the said flagship model of 2017.
