"Ratchet P*ssy, Bust It Open!" "Excuse My French" Bronx bred; Moroccan born rapper French Montana's first studio album is speaking volumes to the state of the hip-hop game. French's highly anticipate, yet delayed debut album, solidifies his transition from "Mixtape and DVD King", to a full-fledged artist who can hold his own (with the help of great feature artists).

"Excuse My French," is an upbeat album, featuring recycled and remixed beats from artists like Wu-Tang Clan, M.I.A., and more. French stays in his own the lane, the one in which he, Diddy, Rick Ross, created, which allows him to deliver street tracks as well as strip club anthems.

With production so trendy yet modern and a flow as catchy as a nursery rhyme, one can conclude that French Montana has released on of the best rap albums of 2013, with respect to what the industry has become.

Of the gate French leads with his foundation, on "Once In A While," featuring Max B, he reminds fans of his origins and identity as he remains true to his BX roots with appreciation to his homie Max B. Max B opens up on the track as he appears to be pre-recorded from a prison phone, while serving a 75-year sentence. The former rapper confirmed his faith in French, and shares that he foresaw the success French Montana would have in the rap game.

Max B's intuition was right. French' has had an exceptional influence on the hip-hop industry as he was featured on more than 20 tracks prior to releasing his own album, and released an additional hand full of mixtapes in a matter of two years. However, French's feature artist start carries through on his album. Out of 18 tracks, he appears on four without the assistance of other artists.

"Ain't Worried About Nuthin," French's first solo track on the album, is one of his best songs to date.  While the lyrics are nothing new-French talks about sex, drugs, and everything else in between, but it is his flow that draws you in. His ability to own every track and back it up with a bouncy beat makes French standout in the rap game and on his album. His second solo track on the album, "When I Want," follows suit with  a hard hitting beat, designing to be played full blast on a summer day riding around Uptown.

The producers that worked on "Excuse My French," deserve just as much credit as French himself, as well as the feature artist. One of the best tracks on the album, "F*ck What Happens Tonight," featuring Movado, DJ Khaled, Ace Hood, Scarface and Snoop Dogg, is a purely beat driven track. Movado's Jamaican influence over Cam'ron's "I Really Mean It," beat is a perfect mash-up of reggae and hip-hop; highlighting French's technique relying on modern classic hip-hop beats to accommodate his appeal for unique collaborations and features.

With a handful of radio singles such as "Ocho Cinco," "Freaks," "Pop That," and "Marble Floors," French is able to mix in new tracks effortlessly as the theme for "Excuse My French," is concise and deliberate. French Montana may not be a lyricist in the rankings of Nas, Talib Kweli, Jay-Z, Big K.R.I.T. or Biggie, yet his ability to penetrate the hip-hop game and the right time is a feet that must be applauded.

"Excuse My French" is an overall power move and can compete with some of the most critically acclaimed rap albums of 2013 and possibly 2012, but keep in mind "Born Sinner" and "Yeezus" have yet to drop. With that said it is safe to say that if you are in the mood for killer beats, catchy lyrics, cynical punch lines, or working on the latest stripper moves, then "Excuse My French," is your go to album.
