Recently, J. Cole moved the release date of his new album Born Sinner up to June 18, putting it in direct competition with the highly anticipated Kanye West album Yeezus. While his original tweets announcing the bump seemed to be reverent (he called Ye "one of the greatest artists of our generation"), a source close to Cole has clarified that J is not afraid to take on Yeezy.

Via XXL:

"J. Cole is really confident about this album. He worked so intensely in the studio, produced the whole thing, was really laser focused. He is more confident than ever and isn't afraid to come out on the same day as Kanye. In fact, he's embracing it. He wants to be in the mix."

I doubt we'll see a Curtis style showdown, as there is almost no doubt that Ye will move more units than the NC native. However, it does make for one heck of a day at the record store.

What do you think? Should J. Cole be scared of what premiering against Kanye West will do for his numbers? Which do you think will be a better album: Born Sinner or Yeezus?

Sound off in the comments.
