Addiction is a disease (depending on you talk too) that plagues millions of Americans everyday. Substance Abuse Costs Our Nation More than $484 Billion per Year, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Thus it may come as a shock that after 13 seasons, A&E's Intervention is coming to an end.
Intervention followed accidents with various dependencies around, under the premise that they were participating in a documentary on drug abuse, however upon reaching the brink, their loved ones stage a surprise intervention conducted by one of four specialists, Jeff VanVonderen, Candy Finnigan, Donna Chavous and Ken Seeley, Newsmax reported.
In the end, they are pushed to get the help they need with the hope of turning their lives around before it's too late. The show is produced by GRB Entertainment for A&E Network. Gary Benz, Michael Branton and Dan Partland are executive producers.

The docuseries is one of A&E's signature programs, winning the Emmy for best reality series in 2009 and nominated one other time. It also won five PRISM Awards. A&E said that the final five episodes will begin June 13, according to Newsmax.
