Usher CONFIRMS Return To 'The Voice' on Ellen [VIDEO]: Usher Talks New Sugar Ray Leonard Role, 'The Voice, Justin Bieber And More

One of the newest Voice mentors, superstar and Grammy Award Winning artist Usher is making his promo rounds.  Usher had a lot of things to talk about when he appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show Wednesday, on the same day that his newest protégé Michelle Chamuel was selected as one of the top 6 contestants on The Voice.  Usher and Ellen chatted about his first leading role in film, returning to The Voice, and his first protégé Justin Bieber's controversial lifestyle.

Eller asked Usher about what he thought about Justin Bieber's antics, Usher could relate somewhat because he started off in the industry as a child star as well.   "I look at it as a teenager," Usher told Ellen. "A teenager having to live his life in front of a camera. Imagine if you had to do that as a teenager."

Usher also opened up about his role as a mentor on the NBC hit show The Voice. As his first season on the show comes to an end, he told Ellen that he "planned to return," for another season.  Although the show has been keeping him busy, the "Yeah!," singer is preparing to expand his artistic background to include more acting.

He landed the role as legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, in "Hands of Stone," a boxing film about Roberto Duran. While Usher had appeared infilms before, he has never played an athlete, but Usher feels as though he has been preparing all his life. " I think my dancing will make it easier for me to pick up his moves," Usher told the Associated Press.

This will be Usher's first leading role in a feature film, and the seasoned entertainer said that he is up to it. "I'm up for the challenge, and I'm looking forward to it," he told the AP. "I think my overall feeling is one of anticipation. It seems like this is a real passion project. It's a film that everybody is so invested in, and I have the good fortune of having the character I'm playing still around.

The film begins production in Panama this October.
