Courtney Love is looking to release a new "totally not Hole" solo album called Died Blonde with the lineup of 2010's Hole reunion album. However, she seems to be having trouble finding a lady bassist.

"I put an ad on Craigslist that said, 'Band in the style of Hole looking for bassist in the style of Melissa Auf der Maur.' I got exactly one response, Love said in an interview with Bust. "There's just not a lot of chick bass players."

That no one would want a chance to be a part of Hole (I mean, Courtney Love) is just astounding. We're a jaded people, man. That the greatest rock band of the early to mid 90s (yes, including Nirvana. Come at me, fanboys) could post an open call for musicians and get nothing boggles the mind.

For now the act is all dudes with the exception of Courtney. Love is backed up by guitarist Micko Larkin, drummer Scott Lipps, and bassist Shawn Dailey.

Love also took the opportunity to explain her decision to call the band Courtney Love.

"My name symbolizes a lot of things, and I have to sit in these rooms with lawyers and be called a 'brand' often, so I was just like, 'Fucking name it after me!' I don't care."

What do you think? Any lady bassists out there who'd like to back up Courtney Love? Are you excited for a new album from Love? Sound off in the comments and stick with Mstars for the latest in music news.
