The plot continues to thicken around Scott Weiland and the Stone Temple Pilots.   In the latest bit of crazy, Weiland is now suing the 3 members of STP who aren't him for booting him from his band.

According to TMZ:

Weiland says it's particularly galling, rhetorically asking, "How do you expel a man from the band that he started, named, sang lead on every song, wrote the lyrics, and was the face of for twenty years?"

Weiland didn't take to kindly to being kicked out of Stone Temple Pilots (which he learned about the same way we did, reading it in the press.) He's asking for $7M in damages and a formal dissolution of the band.
Weiland's suit is actually a counter-suit to one filed by the members of STP. They claim he sabotaged their 20th anniversary gig by being a terrible bandmate.

As if that isn't weird enough, the men of STP have replaced Weiland with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. (We brought you a track from the new lineup previously).

Here's a video of the new Stone Temple Pilots performing Mott The Hoople's "All The Young Dudes." (The group were also joined by Slash and Duff McKagen.

What do you think? Does STP have a right to perform without Weiland? Do they owe the frontman anything? How's Chester Bennington doing as new Stone Temple Pilots lead singer? Do you like their new song? How about the Mott The Hoople cover?
