In an extremely rare occurrence last night in Chicago during their 2013 tour, the Rolling Stones performed “As Tears Go By.” To make it even more special, Mick Jagger brought out pop star Taylor Swift to accompany the Stones on the tune. While Jagger and Keith Richards wrote the song, it was 1960s pop singer Marianne Faithfull who made a career off of her own take on the song. Jagger and Faithfull actually dated about 50 years ago, so when Swift came out to perform the crowd was treated to an eerily familiar scene last night.

Jagger walked up to the mic before the song to ask “Can I slow it down a little bit?” He told the crowd that they have not played this particular song in “quite a long time” and mentioned that it was probably one of the first songs that he and Keith wrote together. Mick said that they gave it to a young lady to sing at the time, but that they would do it now “with a bit of help.”
As Mick sings the first few lines, Taylor walks out, puts her arm on the legendary frontman and sings the next few lines. The two then continue the call and response routine with some harmonies. Mick even leads Taylor around the stage so that everyone in the crowd can get a bit more of a show during the ballad.

At the end of the night, Taylor Swift posted the following tweet to her Twitter account:
