Because the British press is a shining beacon of truth and ethics, the Daily Star has reported that Paris Jackson, the late Michael Jackson's 15-year-old daughter, will replace Matt Smith as the Doctor on  Doctor Who. Below a photo of the paper via Bleeding Cool.

Smith announced that he would be leaving the show after the annual Christmas special earlier this week.

Smith said in a statement that "It's been an honour to play this part, to follow the legacy of brilliant actors, and helm the TARDIS for a spell with 'the ginger, the nose and the impossible one'." He ended the note with "Trenzalore calls. Thank you guys, Matt."

The news has read to rampant speculation as to who the next Doctor will be (Team Idris Elba!). Though there have been many calls to cast a woman in the role of the Doctor, it is highly unlikely that Jackson will take the reins on the long-running sci-fi serial.

What led the Daily Star to publish this? A tweet from the teenager.
