After the Red Wedding set everyone into sobbing fits/uncontrollable rages/mass hysteria, fans were anxious to see what would happen in the Season 3 finale of Game Of Thrones. However, not all of them had HBO. The season 3 finale of HBO's highest-rated show is set to break illegal downloading records according to Torrentfreak.
"Mhysa" was torrented over a million times and that's not the only record it broke. A copy of the episode became the most active single file of all time on BitTorrent.
Via Torrentfreak:
"At its height the Istole tracker reported that 171,572 people were active on a single torrent, 128,686 sharing a complete copy while 42,886 were still downloading."
Game of Thrones was the most-pirated show last year and will likely hold that crown again this year. The majority of the records that Mhysa is breaking were set by the season 3 premiere of the show. (Prior to that, they were held by an episode of Heroes).
Australia continues to be the most-active Game of Thrones pirate community, followed by the US, Canada and the UK. (Australia's prevalence of GoT torrenting in spite of its small population led the US ambassador to Australia chastise the country for it. Not even kidding.)
Check out our recap of "Mhysa" and what's coming in season 4.
