There's nothing blurry about it: Robin Thicke has something to celebrate. His grooving song "Blurred Lines" has shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for this week (June 13).

The success of "Blurred Lines" should come as no surprise. The genre-bending track appeals to fans of pop, old school R&B, modern rap and dance music. Since its release in March, the song has been gaining traction due to its funky beats and guest spots from known hitmakers Pharrell and T.I.

According to Billboard.com, "Blurred Lines" tops the Hot 100 thanks to its rising position from three sections of the chart's formula: airplay, streaming and digital sales. The track is the first to have the biggest gains in all three arenas since streaming was incorporated into Billboard's formula in March 2012.

Though "Blurred Lines" marks the first No. 1 for Thicke, T.I. earned his fourth top hit and Pharrell now stands at three chart toppers. T.I. last topped the Hot 100 with "Live Your Life" in 2008; Pharrell's most recent No. 1 was in 2006 on Ludacris' "Money Maker."

Surely, the sexy, unrated video for "Blurred Lines" has not hurt the song's numbers. The rather controversial video showcases Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. dressed in classy suits while scantily clad and topless women parade across the screen. However, the video is an appropriate accompaniment to the song's saucy lyrics, which include lines such as "You wanna hug me, / What rhymes with hug me?"

"Blurred Lines" knocked Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis' song "Can't Hold Us" out of the No. 1 spot. The top three is rounded out by yet another song featuring Pharrell, Daft Punk's "Get Lucky." This marks the first time the N.E.R.D. vocalist has had two songs in the Top Five.

How much do readers think the salacious video helped take "Blurred Lines" to No. 1? Sound off in the comments!
