Although Cole is from the south New York is obviously embedded in his life as the base of his career. On "New York Times," he raps about his "second home," and the respect his has for Queens and New York. Cole, a St. John's University graduate personalized the track, telling an intimate tale of living in Queens as a student and graduating to raps freshman watch to watch.

While 50 Cent is delegated strictly to the hook, the beat and J. Cole's engaging story do not require a verse from the G-Unit Boss, although new music from 50 is always nice. Bas's verse comes in where Cole leaves off, as he drives the song home recounted experiences he has on his rise in the game.
