Pop and country songstress Taylor Swift has previously talked about writing a new record and yesterday she told MTV News that the writing process is definitely on her mind. She also talked about how "crazy" writing new music can be and how she wants to ease into a new record with enough time passing after the release of her latest album, Red. The "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer took a break during her "Red" tour with openers Ed Sheeran and Austin Mahone to stop by the Fragrance Foundation Awards to accept the award for Celebrity of the Year.

"I'm getting ready to start thinking about it," she told MTV News on the red carpet.

"Because my record, it just came out and I'm trying to give my mind a second to be like, 'OK,' because when I write a record, I write until I cannot write anymore, I drive myself crazy and then finally the album comes out and I give myself a few months off so I'm still in that time."

Swift fans know that the singer spends a lot of time with her tour opener Ed Sheeran, so it is no surprise that "Red" tour newcomer Austin Mahone already has a good relationship with the star. He recently described the 23-year-old singer a "humble" and even had time to discuss just how he got onto the tour.

"My manager called me. They are like, 'We originally wanted to get a song with you and Taylor,' but Taylor's manager was like, 'Forget the song, let's go on tour,' " Mahone explained to MTV News earlier this spring. "I'd rather go on tour than do a song. You know, a song might come out of that.'"

"We're still working on that," Mahone admitted. The "What About Love" singer continued, "I've gotta, you know, ask her. I think she'll say yes."
