Amanda Bynes 2013 Twitter UPDATE: Cher Apologizes to Actress, Troubled Starlet 'Could Never Marry A German'

Amanda Bynes has been using her Twitter to send some damaging comments at other, more active in entertainment, celebrities. One sent a couple of tweets back, and they weren't the scathing responses you might expect from someone who just got called "ugly and a flop."

Pop icon Cher was included among a list of celebrities deemed unattractive by Bynes, including pop star Miley Cyrus and rapper Drake. A fan reached out to the "Life After Love" singer, wondering what she thought about the slam.

".@ Who's that?" she asked about Bynes, before either making a spelling mistake or referencing the drug ecstasy. "Wait .. Is this another WTF IS MDMA."

It's a comeback routinely used by celebrities to suggest that their verbal assailants are less relevant than them and therefore the insults mean nothing. Cher is probably right in this case, but she apparently felt bad about it so she left an equally mistyped apology to Bynes, as a response to the former actress's tweet "This is my twitter. I say whatever I want. Thanks!"

"You got That One Right!" Cher said in reply. "SORRY About shade,Sweet- Heart,it was unintentional... Promise."

Cher was level-headed enough to nip this one in the bud rather than cause further social-media warfare. Bynes hasn't responded yet to the apology, but she has stirred the pot in another way...by making dated historical jabs against an entire country.

"I could never marry a German because I'm Jewish," she tweeted.

Surprisingly, this didn't cause near the furor that calling Miley Cyrus "ugly" did.
