The Top 3 contestants on Season 4 of NBC's "The Voice" sang in the performance finale Monday night as they vied for the top spot and the title of Season 4 champion.

Michelle Chamuel (Team Usher), Danielle Bradbery (Team Blake Shelton) and The Swon Brothers (Team Blake Shelton) each sang three songs Monday night: a new song, a duet with his or her mentor and an encore from earlier in the season.

Michelle Chamuel's new song was Annie Lennox's "Why" and she truly resonated with the lyrics. Her bread and butter this season has been her ability to take any song style and make it her own and she did that again on this number.

Danielle Bradbery's new song was Sara Evans' "Born to Fly" and the entire performance, from her vocals to the set decoration, highlighted the qualities that carried her to the finals. Her wholesome, country persona shone through in every word.

The Swon Brothers' new song was The Eagles' "I Can't Tell You Why" and the rendition showed how far these two have come during the season. They've improved as vocalists and their comfort level on stage has definitely increased.

Michelle's encore was Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" and she managed to recreate most of the energy from the first time. She showed again how she can take on different genres with ease.

Danielle's encore was Pam Tillis' "Maybe It Was Memphis" and her country crooning aligned very well with Tillis' original love song.

The Swon Brothers' encore was Loggins and Messina's "Danny's Song," which they sang just one week ago, and while it was an odd decision to perform the song again so soon, the brothers did a solid job of delivering it one more time.

Michelle and Usher teamed up for U2's "One" and gave perhaps the best performance of the night. The relationship between coach and singer has been the highlight of the season and to see it manifest on stage was beautiful, particularly in light of the song's hopeful message.

Danielle and Blake Shelton performed Patty Loveless' "Timber, I'm Falling in Love" but the two never developed a natural chemistry and the performance felt awkward as a result.

The Swon Brothers and Blake Shelton combined for Brad Paisley's "Celebrity." The performance was consistent with what Blake has done with the brothers all season: safe, solid and good enough to get the brothers into the finals. Whether it carries them to the top remains to be seen.

The winner of Season 4 of "The Voice" will be revealed Tuesday night.
